Permaculture is an approach to designing systems which meet human needs and also strengthen natural systems. Permaculture systems provide food, shelter, clothing, community, events, education, etc.
Permaculture design implements 3 ethics - Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares. The approach is always adapted to context and is guided by design principles.
Permaculture is influenced by cultures which have learned the skills to live in harmony with their own ecosystems. Permaculture was first documented as a modern design system in the 70s in Australia by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. Permaculture is now implemented worldwide in many different environments.
