Tuesday Socials

E-mail Print PDF

The Tuesday Socials have been the "backbone" of the LPN since its formation in late Spring 2006. Open to newcomers and those with long-standing involvement alike, the Socials offer a chance for:

Getting involved - Those who are new to permaculture, new to Leeds or have only just found out about the network can come along to a free, friendly, relaxed event where they can find out more.
Sharing knowledge and experience - Much of the evenings are dedicated to people spending time with each other, exchanging information and experiences.
Enjoying good food - We start each event with a bring-and-share supper which helps break the ice for newcomers and ensures we're all well fed.
Learning and skillsharing - The main focus of the evenings is a talk, presentation, film or workshop on a permaculture topic. These cover a wide range of subjects - in the past we've had permaculture in Palestine, DIY bike trailor construction, urban harvesting, forest gardening and much more. You can also have the opportunity to browse our permaculture library which includes many hard-to-find titles.

The Tuesday socials start at 6.30pm on the last Tuesday of every month (apart from August and December) at the Common Place, a social centre near the Corn Exchange in central Leeds. Details of the events will be posted on the LPN events calendar and on the LPN mailing list in advance.

DAVID HOLMGREN'S PRINCIPLES OF PERMACULTURE DESIGN

Creatively use and respond to change

"Vision is not seeing things as they are but as they will be" - We can have a positive impact on inevitable change by carefully observing, and then intervening at the right time.
